Colombia’s electrical system is the same as the US. The voltage runs at 110-120V. The outlets, however do not have the grounding pin so any of our grounded plugs will not fit.
When we arrived at the apartment at 2am, the immediate fix for the outlet difference was to remove the grounding pin from my power strip and any other plugs we needed to use immediately. The long-term fix was just to grab a couple of 3 prong to 2 prong adapters at the grocery store (a few bucks).
Nothing is simple here, but this one was the easiest of everything we’ve had to compensate for.
